My great grandma was from Cork. I’ve thought about going on a trip.

My ancestors left Ireland from Cobh and my great grandfather’s Destroyer was docked there during WWI. It’s just south of Cork and a great town. Had a few pints with the locals last night.

I’m currently learning Gaelic because I think I can speak it better than the local English dialect.

Oh man, good luck, it’s impossible to get anywhere in that country faster than 35MPH r egardless of your average speed.

If you get a chance, try the Connemara Loop between Letterfrack and Tullyconor in County Galway. The run out and around Ballycroy National Park was also worth a go too from memory. Actually, the full length  of the N59 was a hoot!

Meanwhile it takes twice that long just to drive across Texas

Try the rural roads next time you’re here  People haul ass on them. Around Dublin there’s lots of traffic, but we maintained a pretty solid 65-75 mph on the highways in southern Ireland

Ha I’d inevitably get caught in a traffic jam involving tractors (the farm kind) in every little village I came into.

Glad it was an awesome trip, Ireland’s a great spot, even with the tractors.

Not too many tractors out this time of year. There was one this morning and he was hauling ass through town. Did get in a jam behind a two door Defender pulling a horse trailer. The headlight on my rental aren’t aimed correctly, and traffic was moving at around 120 kph on the little road into Kilrea last night which was absolutely terrifying.
